Hi, I’m Cate

My passion is working with kids (10+), teenage girls, young adults, and adult women facing challenges such as anxiety, sports performance, life changes, friendship struggles, depression, self-esteem, and perfectionistic tendencies.

The clients I support are high-achieving, motivated, and goal-driven individuals who are often silently struggling on the inside. My goal is to assist clients in developing the skills and mindsets necessary to reach their full potential.

Therapy for Children & Adolescents

As a former School Counselor, I have provided counseling services to students ranging in age from Pre-K to 12th grade. While serving students in a school counseling role, I realized some needed a deeper level of support than I was able to give - thus, I started my work in private practice!

When working with kids and teens, I often use creative approaches, including Play and Art Therapy. Additionally, sometimes younger clients thrive in an outdoor or more active setting. I enjoy integrating outdoor therapy techniques, such as walk-and-talk therapy, adventure therapy challenges, or just throwing a baseball or kicking a soccer ball while we talk.

As a genuine, light-hearted therapist, I support my younger clients with a relationship-focused approach that helps them feel heard and understood while we build skills and have a little fun along the way. The children and adolescents I often work with are struggling to manage big emotions, feel like they have to be perfect in everything they do, and are navigating life changes, self-esteem struggles, and relationships with family and peers.

Therapy for Athletes & Athletic Teams

As a former collegiate athlete, I understand the benefits of holistic wellness and encourage activities that take care of the mind and body. I am passionate about working with high-achieving athletes who may be battling performance anxiety, fear of failure, self-esteem struggles, finding an identity outside of their sport, and managing life alongside competitive sports. I also have experience working with athletes who may have suffered from a traumatic experience in their sport setting.

When working with athletic teams in group settings, I teach skills that foster a sense of cohesion for the team while working towards a common goal of what success means to them. Some topics I often address with athletic teams include goal setting, positive self-talk, emotion regulation techniques, and communication strategies.

My hope when working alongside athletes and teams is to build upon their strengths to shine not only during competition, but also in everyday life.

Therapy for Adult Women

I have the privilege of holding a safe and comfortable space for young adult and adult women who identify as a “yes” person but are at a breaking point. They sign up for all the things, enroll in every activity, and often support others more than take care of themselves. I help women set boundaries, confidently communicate their needs, and feel more capable of managing their own lives.

My approach is relationship-focused, where I offer unconditional encouragement and support. My hope is not to change you, but to walk with you through your journey in enhancing the strengths you already possess and practice offering yourself grace and compassion. When facilitating therapy with women, I often use talk therapy - and for those looking to get some extra steps, I use walk-and-talk therapy!
