It’s hard to be a teen these days. We aim to get on their level and meet them where they are. Our hope is that your teenager will feel comfortable and at ease in our offices, allowing them to truly be themselves and share openly.

Teens need a safe space to express their authentic selves and process their daily stressors, which often includes such topics as identity, friendships, school work, college, relationships, family dynamics, and big life changes.

We’re here to process the hard stuff, teach effective coping and calming strategies, and collaborate with you to best support them.

Therapy for Teens

“And yet, it’s our listening that can give the greatest comfort. It’s our acceptance of their unhappy feelings that can make it easier for our kids to cope with them.”

ADELE FABER

Parent Consultation

Working collaboratively with parents and caregivers is a vital aspect of a teen’s therapy progress. Through regularly scheduled parent sessions, we aim to help parents better understand their teen and their unique needs, while providing ongoing support and feedback.

With a teenager, however, earning trust and respecting privacy is important. Therefore, we will often get their permission to share before we talk about their sessions or give them options for how to share information we deem important for you to know.

We ascribe to the Positive Discipline model, which provides parents with tools and strategies to help strengthen the parent-child relationship and maintain long-term behavioral change.
